Brown Bag Lunch & Learn Series

Community Activation: Tools to Inform and Engage
Part of our FREE Brown Bag Lunch & Learn series

Join us for a discussion about the importance of data-driven decision making in nonprofit work and how online data tools from the Johnson Center’s Community Research Institute can help you and your organization identify community challenges, work for change, and measure impact.

Jeremy Pyne, Geographic Information Systems Manager at the Johnson Center’s Community Research Institute, will present a detailed overview and demonstration of the Community Profiles 2.0 data tool. Along the way, he’ll provide examples of how local organizations are currently using this data in their project work to help you think through ideas and applications.

Community Profiles 2.0 allows community members to:

  • Explore and access data on issues like health care, housing, and education in West Michigan communities
  • Visualize data trends using charts and interactive mapping
  • Create reports for custom-drawn geographies
  • Download full data sets

Cost: Free!

Attendees are welcome to bring a lunch to this event. Water, coffee, and tea will be provided.
