Value-Based Purchasing: Innovative Opportunities for Nonprofits

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), with the steady implementation of payment changes to value-based purchasing (VBP), is creating unexpected opportunities for community-based organizations (CBOs) that provide social services. Nonprofits sometimes approach the design of innovations responding to VBP with a community benefit perspective (and funds). These present new and expansive opportunities to social service CBOs.

Key Takeaways:

  • Examples of projects as described from West Michigan
  • Examples of partnering need and effect on innovations and partners
  • Expectations of future innovations and opportunities

Presenters: Greg Cline and Raymond Higbea
