Building a Dynamic Board
May 17 @ 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Building a Dynamic Board (formerly called “Working with Your Board”) is a new-and-improved course for executive directors and leadership staff! While all nonprofit professionals will find value in this workshop, it is designed to be particularly helpful to the executive directors of small and mid-sized nonprofit organizations.
Effectively working with your board is more art than science. Understanding governance structures is just one piece of the puzzle. Perhaps more important is how executive directors manage relationships with board members.
This workshop will help executive directors and those in leadership roles develop strategies for tackling these issues head on. Topics will include:
- Challenges and opportunities of managing a board
- Governance structures
- Effective board member engagement
- Board member involvement in fundraising
(free for GVSU students/staff)
