History & Purpose
LearnPhilanthropy originated at the Council on Foundations and the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers, and it is now led by the Johnson Center.
From the start, LearnPhilanthropy was envisioned as a hub for grantmaker learning, built by and for professionals working in the field. By strengthening grantmaker learning, our goal is to increase the effectiveness and impact of philanthropy. We believe it should be easy for grantmakers of all kinds – staff, donors, trustees, volunteers – to find what they need in this complex and changing field.
Several hundred grantmakers, learning providers, and others have shared insight and assistance to help create LearnPhilanthropy so far. LearnPhilanthropy truly has been, and will continue to be, built by the field and for the field. We hope you will join us as we relaunch LearnPhilanthropy later this year.
