Brown Bag Lunch and Learn: Public Relations on Nonprofit Boards

October 28, 2015 @ 11:30 AM1:00 PM EDT

Brown Bag Lunch and Learn: Public Relations on Nonprofit Boards

Nonprofits throughout the state of Michigan are losing out on the benefits that can come from having people on their boards of directors who are experienced in public relations. That’s one of the key findings in recent research from Dr. Tim Penning, professor of Advertising and Public Relations at Grand Valley State University.

Join us for a presentation by Dr. Penning and learn more about how having public relations’ capacity on the board can help nonprofits.

You’ll learn:

  • A proper framing and understanding of public relations. It may be more than you think.
  • The importance of having at least one person with professional public relations knowledge on your nonprofit board no matter the size or age of your organization.
  • The benefit of seeing public relations as a management function focused on relationship building.

This event is FREE. Attendees are invited to bring their lunch. Coffee, tea, and water will be provided.
