Find Your Voice: Persuasive Writing for Grantmakers

June 18 @ 9:00 AMJune 19 @ 2:00 PM EDT

Find Your VOice: Persuasive Writing for Grantmakers

Presented by The Grantmaking School

Writing persuasively is an essential component of grantmaking. You may find it challenging to incorporate your unique voice within the framework of your foundation’s writing templates. Yet it’s the passion — and clarity — in your writing that makes your argument persuasive.

Whether preparing a grant recommendation for the board, developing a strategy document to share with stakeholders, or drafting blog posts, this workshop uses group coaching to sharpen the analytical and technical skills that are the basis for good writing so you can effectively advocate for the work you care about.

As a member of this workshop cohort, you’ll have time to practice these skills and gain real-time feedback from instructors and peers. Bring your own writing samples and a knowledge of your foundation’s guidelines — you’ll gain hands-on experience speaking and writing with your voice through your organization’s templates.

In this course you will:

  • Learn to use your professional writing to support the grantees and communities your care about
  • Develop technical writing skills that will strengthen your analysis and argument
  • Practice writing and editing together with your cohort
  • Find new ways to make templates your own
