Foundational learning to help you serve effectively on a board

Board service can be an immensely satisfying undertaking. While passion and commitment often lead people to serve on nonprofit boards, having the technical skills to be effective is critical to helping an organization succeed.

Following this four-hour session, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the core functions, legal and other responsibilities of a nonprofit board of directors.
  • Understand governance structures and how to apply them.
  • Identify common challenges and related strategies facing nonprofit boards.
