Michigan is truly a State of Generosity.
Our State of Generosity is an online platform that explores the past 40 years of Michigan’s philanthropic sector and its leadership. This history captures a tremendous period of change in the sector, including the creation of all four of the partner infrastructure organizations, as well as the establishment of numerous community foundations across the state.
Lessons learned from this period can provide guidance for current nonprofit and foundation leaders. These resources serve as a blueprint for other communities who wish to strengthen their philanthropic infrastructure, as well as provide a resource for students and researchers of the charitable sector.
The four collaborating partners in this project include:
- Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy
- Council of Michigan Foundations
- Michigan Community Service Commission
- Michigan Nonprofit Association
