Jill Roof joined the Johnson Center in 2024 as a research manager in the Community Data and Research Lab. In this role, she plans, manages, and conducts research and evaluation that has a tangible impact on communities and the nonprofit sector.

Previously, Jill worked as a local government researcher for the Citizens Research Council of Michigan where she conducted quantitative and qualitative research and analysis on public policy issues of importance to local governments in Michigan, including ad valorem special assessments and property taxes, regional transportation services, local-option revenue sources, and county or regional service delivery. She also worked as a program manager in the Center for Leadership at Hope College.

Jill has a Bachelor of Science in political science from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Public Administration from Wayne State University.
