Jill Roof joined the Johnson Center in February 2024 as a research manager. She has a background in nonprofit work and is passionate about assisting the important work that nonprofits are doing in communities through research, evaluation, and analysis.

Previously, Jill worked as a local government researcher for the Citizens Research Council of Michigan where she conducted quantitative and qualitative research and analysis on public policy issues of importance to local governments in Michigan, including ad valorem special assessments and property taxes, regional transportation services, local-option revenue sources, and county or regional service delivery. She also worked as a program manager in the Center for Leadership at Hope College.

Jill has a Bachelor of Science in political science from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Public Administration from Wayne State University. She lives with her husband and three children in Zeeland Michigan and spends her free time reading, running, and watching her kids participate in various sports and activities.
