As a speaker, Kevin is available to discuss engaging the next generation in board service and entering the nonprofit sector. He is also available to assist nonprofits with shaping organizational development engagements.


Kevin Peterson joined the Johnson Center in 2015 and currently serves as a program associate. In this role, he helps manage and deliver nonprofit and grantmaker capacity-building efforts. Kevin held various roles at the Johnson Center before transitioning to his current position.

Kevin currently serves as the co-chair of the board for the Young Nonprofit Professionals’ Network of Grand Rapids. He has served on a successful capital campaign, the Terry McAdam Book Award committee for the Alliance for Nonprofit Management, and as a fellow for the National Young Nonprofit Professionals’ Network.

Kevin holds a Bachelor of Arts in public and nonprofit administration with an emphasis on community development and planning, and minors in legal studies and urban and regional planning from Grand Valley State University. He is currently continuing his studies in the Master of Public Administration program with a concentration in nonprofit management and leadership at GVSU.
