Donna Murray-Brown joined the Johnson Center’s Leadership Council in 2018. In 2022, she joined the National Council of Nonprofits as vice president of strategy and development. Murray-Brown served as president and CEO of the Michigan Nonprofit Association from 2013 through 2021, leading the organization’s strategic direction and overall operations.

Twice honored as a NonProfit Times “Power and Influence Top 50” leader in the nonprofit sector, Donna was also recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business in 2021 as one of the most influential women in Michigan. She currently serves on the board of trustees for Candid and Detroit Public TV.

Murray-Brown earned a master’s degree in community development from the University of Detroit Mercy, and a B.S. in business administration from Central State University. She also holds certifications in corporate community affairs from Boston College and strategic perspectives in nonprofit management from Harvard Business School.
