Philanthropy’s Quest for Equity: Past. Present. Future.

February 26, 2025 @ 1:00 pm3:00 pm EST

Examining milestones in the history of American philanthropy

Covering a timeline of more than 150 years, this session will describe and analyze milestones in the history of American philanthropy. We will weave perspectives to analyze modern philanthropy’s quest for equity as practice, process, and vision.

Following the presentation, you will be invited to explore how this shared context shapes your own work, and then to envision what may be in store for the future of equity in philanthropy. You’ll leave with historical context, ideas for advancing equity, and a resources/tools reference list to explore further.

This course will help you:

  • Understand the historical context for equity in philanthropy to reach an individual and shared understanding of the future needs to advance equity.
  • Build confidence and patience in persisting in your individual and organization’s journey to advance equity.
  • Consider your own organization’s future by addressing changes in paradigms, wealth, and power.

Individual Price: $195
Group Rate: $165 per person for groups of 3 or more from the same organization

Format: Virtual
Deadline to register: Monday, Feb. 24
