Webinar // How Has Philanthropy Changed in 30 Years?

Part of the Johnson Center’s 30th Anniversary Summer Learning Series
Webinar // How Has Philanthropy Changed in 30 Years?

When the Johnson Center was established in 1992, the landscape of philanthropic giving and nonprofit infrastructure looked very different than the field we know today.

In the three decades that have followed, giving has expanded dramatically, the number of nonprofits has exploded, challenges have emerged as the field professionalized, and the sector continues to see increasing demand.

In this first webinar of a three-part series, Michael Moody and Jeff Williams discuss what nonprofits and donors — both individual and institutional — can do to prepare for sustaining the important work of philanthropy in a new era of change and challenge. This data- and insights-rich discussion explores the sector’s remarkable transformation and growth over 30 years, based on Dr. Moody’s retrospective essay, Philanthropy 1992–2022: What difference can 30 years make?
